Museum of Quietness

SONICA, THEMUSEUM (Kitchener, ON, 2021)

Luisa Ji & Kanika Gupta

What does your world sound like today? How do you experience noise and quietness?

MUSEUM OF QUIETNESS is a participatory experience where audiences follow a series of visual prompts to draw attention to the auditory and visual noises in their present reality and use that as a starting point to craft and build their own prototype/artifact that allows them to actively imagine what a quieter future may look like and their role in it.

This collective sense-making experience was made available for both in-person visitors at THEMUSEUM, and virtually via Zoom with people who were home-bound due to pandemic lockdown measures.
